New Early Support website comes alive! Read a statement from the team…
June 11 2008
The Early Support website has had a makeover - visit www.earlysupport.org.uk to see for yourself.
The design has been completely re-developed to reflect a programme focused on young children and their families, while photographs, and a series of 14 short videos of people talking about their experience of using Early Support, bring the website to life.
Several new areas have been added, including Early support in practice, which is substantial and replaces professional guidance published in 2004 – look here for information about lead professionals and key workers and implementing service change. For families explains what Early Support is about to parents and carers and helps those visiting the site for the first time to find their way around. New content on using the programme materials has also been added to the Materials section.
The website has been up-dated and up-graded to support the consolidation of the national programme and use of Early Support across the country. More is coming over the next few months – in particular, audio versions of the Background Information Booklets in languages other than English and more web pages that ‘talk’.
We are looking for case study material to support new content - particularly for Early support in practice and Your stories.
The development of the website has involved many people and we would like to thank everyone involved for their participation and support. We hope you like what you find on the new website and welcome feedback.
Please send any comments by email to and let us know if you have interesting experiences and examples of Early Support in practice to share.
Early support is the Government programme for achieving better co-ordinated, family focused services for young disabled children and their families. The mainstreaming of the programme across England was announced in Aiming High for Disabled Children in May 2007.
