Parent Information Officer
This role has been created to provide consistent up to date information about Leeds Inclusive Learning Strategy to parents/carers and communities.
Margaret Cook, has been appointed to the role and will provide a coordinated approach to both formal and informal consultation in respect of LILS. This will ensure all parents/carers and communities are fully informed and given the opportunity to participate in the continuing development of the strategy. Margaret will work in partnership with Education Leeds Communication Team, the Head of the Parenting Unit and Project Managers as well as liaising with Children Leeds Parent Participation Group and other appropriate statutory and voluntary organisations.
A helpline will be available for parents and carers to discuss their concerns and how they can participate in consultation, becoming fully involved with the decision-making process.
All information gathered from consultations and discussions will be evaluated and made available for parents/carers and communities. Parents/carers and communities will be given the opportunity to give and receive feedback .
Parents and carers who would like to receive confidential and impartial information about the LILS strategy can do so from the Parent Partnership Service who will be kept informed on developments, discussions and the availability of opportunities to participate in the consultation process.
